Except where stated otherwise, "attack" modifiers are applied to the attacking unit, and "defense" modifiers are applied to the defending units, and apply to both the attack and defense stats of the units. Modifiers are total modifiers, including the base modifier for that terrain type.

The modifiers displayed in the in-game unit statistics are relative to Infantry. The modifiers listed below are total modifiers.

Divisions have bonuses and penalties which are average of bonuses and penalties of all brigades in the division. For example, if you have 3x Inf and 1x Eng brigades in your division, the whole division will have 5% bonus when fighting in the Forests (20% from Eng have and 3x INF of 0% divided by 4 brigades in the division). This also means that if you attach Engineers to your Marine division, efficiency of an amphibious attack of the whole division will be slightly lowered.

  • Forts give a 9% penalty to the attacker per level.
  • Amphibious Warfare Equipment gives a 10% bonus to amphibious attack by Marines. (This tech only has one level.)
  • Mountain Warfare Equipment gives a 10% bonus to mountain attack by Mountaineers. (This tech only has one level.)
  • Engineer Bridging Equipment gives a 5% bonus to river attack by Engineers per level.
  • Engineer Assault Equipment gives a 5% bonus to fort attack, 2% bonus to urban and jungle attack, and 1% bonus to forest attack by Engineers per level.

  • The penalty is in movement time, not speed. For example, a -80% penalty means that it will take 1.8 times as long to cover a given distance.
  • All units have a 50% movement penalty when crossing rivers (?)
  • Engineer Bridging Equipment gives a 5% bonus to river movement by Engineers per level.

  • Equipment techs can reduce attrition from Arctic, Desert, Jungle, and Mountain by 1. Mountaineers get a further 0.5 reduction in attrition from the Mountain Warfare Equipment tech.

Miscellaneous[edit]

  • Night gives a -50% penalty to attack stats (that is, units on both sides do less damage).
    • The night goggles tech gives a +10% bonus to attack stats at night. It also lists a +30% bonus to defense stats at night; however, this does not actually seem to be applied.
  • Paradropping applies a -50% penalty.
